Jean Budney

Obituary of Jean Carol Budney

8-14-1934 to 1-21-2019

Jean Carol (Diers) Budney 84, passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2019 at her residence in Proctor Minnesota. Formerly from Milwaukee and Sheyboygan Falls Wisconsin.

Jean was born in Rice Lake Wisconsin to Arthur and Mildred Diers in 1934. She grew up throughout Wisconsin, finally settling in Milwaukee. She loved to spend weekends with her brother Bob and many of her cousins going on river and lake trips filled with fun and excitement. Her world was complete when she married Thomas Budney in 1966. They had 2 boys Richard (Duluth, MN) and David (Milwaukee, WI). She dedicated herself to raising a family and was very involved with the church and school working on the PTA and as a cub scout den mother. Jean was always ready with baked goods in a pinch for the infamous bake sale. She loved to spend time with friends and family, which at some points even involved a glass of wine. After they grew up, she went back to school and worked different jobs until she found a career at The School Sisters of St. Francis. Tom and Jean retired from work and the big city and found a beautiful spot in Sheyboygan Falls Wisconsin. Here they could relax and enjoy the wildlife, waiting for her favorite cardinals to stop by for a snack. After Tom’s passing, she moved to Duluth Minnesota to be closer to her grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Tom, parents Arthur and Mildred, and her brother Bob. She is survived by her sons Rich (Angie), Dave, grandsons Nathan, Evan, and Nick.
