Obituary of Robert "Bob" Paul Grimm
Robert “Bob” Paul Grimm, 86, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2019 at the Inter-faith Care Center in Carlton, Minnesota.
Bob was born on January 18, 1933, as the youngest child of John Francis and Charlotte (Nesbitt) Grimm. A lifelong resident of Carlton County, Bob married Helen Ostby on August 19, 1953. During their 40-year marriage, Bob and Helen raised seven children together. Bob was a dedicated family man and breadwinner, working as a general contractor and cement mason for over 50 years. Bob was also a member of the Local 633 Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ Union. Bob’s children fondly remember his easygoing nature and patience when teaching them important life lessons, as well as the strong work ethic he instilled in them. In his later years, Bob enjoyed biking, spending time outdoors, meeting with friends for coffee, and visiting with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to get along and joke around with everyone.
Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; his sister, Theresa Robertson; his son, Mel Grimm; and granddaughter, Brianne Grimm.
Bob is survived by his loving children: Terry (Brian) Sweeney, Rick (Joy) Grimm, Rodney (Nancy) Grimm, Tim (Cindi) Grimm, Todd (Lisa) Grimm, and Brenda Servaty. Bob is also survived by his siblings: Lawrence Grimm, Herb Grimm, and Joanne Johnson; his grandchildren: Derik Simula, Cody Simula, Ryan Grimm, Justin Grimm, Kyle Grimm, Robert Grimm, Jeremy Grimm, Tricia Rodenborg, Jacob Grimm, Wesley Grimm, Jesse Grimm, Joshua Grimm, Jordan Grimm, Aisha Servaty, Peyton Servaty, and Landon Servaty; and by 29 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Suncrest Assisted Living and Inter-faith Care Center for their friendship and care of Bob in his later years.
