Alan (Bob) is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Iverson of Bellingham, WA, Julie Hampson (Gordie) of Chanhassen, MN, Rebecca Iverson (Michael) of St. Paul, MN and five grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher and Laura Hampson, Zachary and Haley Van Cleve. Preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Iverson, parents Einar Iverson and Sylvia Ulander, sister Betty Braun, and brother Dan Iverson. Bob entered the Air Force after graduating from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He became a pilot and served for 23 years, including the completion of over 100 missions in Vietnam. His favorite duty station was with NATO in Oslo, Norway. Bob's father was an immigrant from Norway so he felt as though he had come home. He loved connecting with his extended family. Bob's final years with the Air Force were served in Honolulu, HI at Hickam Air Force base. When he retired, he began a second career as a high school guidance counselor and assistant dean of students. Bob lived in Honolulu for over 40 years, until declining health brought him back to Minnesota. His family is grateful for the final months they had with him. Services will be held at a later date in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Bob to the USO at USO.org.
