She was a voracious reader of biographies and history books and she traveled extensively with David, taking in the beauty, art, and history of such countries as France, England, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. As a child, Verna was greatly affected by WWII, the Holocaust, and their aftermath, and she later became a member of the Holocaust Memorial Museum. She and David raised their family in Brooklyn Park, MN, and in 1983 moved back to Minneapolis, where they enjoyed plays at the Guthrie, exhibits at the MIA, and dining at local restaurants. She will be remembered for her vivacious personality and steadfast loyalty to her many friends. Verna is also preceded in death by Grushenka, Daphne, and Daisy, beloved pets. A celebration of life is set for Sat., January 26, from 3-5 pm (with remarks at 3:30 pm) at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Loring Park or the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
