Obituary of Maribel Aminta Romero Perea Braack

It is with great sadness that the family of Maribel (Mari) Aminta Romero Perea Braack announce her passing on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at the age of 57. Mari was born on August 21st, 1961 in Colon, Panama. She moved to the United States and joined the United States Air Force at age 19. While stationed in Portsmouth, NH Mari met and married the love of her life, Jeffery William Braack and welcomed with joy the arrival of their children Brandy, Daniel, and James. In 1990 the growing family moved to Duluth, MN where they were blessed with the arrival of twins; Zack and Boston. In Duluth, Mari dedicated her life to raising her family and improving the lives of others during her 28 year career at the Northeast Regional Corrections Center. Jeff and Mari recently celebrated 35 years of marriage together by renewing their vows in front of family and friends this past October. Mari was an avid Minnesota sports fan and loved to watch the Minnesota Wild, Vikings, and Twins with her family. Mari was preceded in death by her beloved brother Carlos Romero. Mari is survived in life by her husband Jeff, her children, Brandy, Daniel (Michelle), James (Patrick), Zack, and Boston, her parents, Jose and Clara Romero of Colon, Panama, siblings Jose "Tito" (Silvia), Javiar (Peggy) and Nilda Romero, her adoring grandchildren: Ellie and Logan Braack, and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Please join the family for a celebration of life on Tuesday, January 22nd at the Cremation Society of Minnesota located at 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807. Visitation hours are from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm followed by a memorial ceremony from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm. A reception will be held at the Wabegon Bar & Grill located at 9004 14030, MN-23, Superior, WI 54880 for family and friends immediately following the ceremony. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the United Heroes League which ensures children of military members have the opportunity to participate in sports.
