Obituary of Archie H. Wiita

Archie H. Wiita, 79, of Hermantown passed peacefully Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 17, 1939 in Menhaga, MN to Richard and Stella Wiita. On October 22, 1960 Archie married Patricia Foy. Archie worked as an electrician, retiring in 1996 from Mare-Island Naval Base, Vallejo, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army for three years.

Archie enjoyed spending time with family and friends fishing at Boulder Lake in the summer and wintered in Yuma, AZ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Troy; his parents; four brothers and a sister.

Archie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat; children, Dennis (Lynne), Duane (Joan) and Lynn (Chris) Siefers; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Mary), Edwin (Anita) and Don (Paula); sisters, Dorothy Maki, Delores Schinigoi, Donna (Ron) Soland, and Diane (Lloyd) Black.
