Jane Bartikoski

Obituary of Jane MacNeil (Dacey) Bartikoski

Jane MacNeil (Dacey) Bartikoski, beautiful and gracious to the end, died January 16, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 27, 1935, to Walter and MaryBell (MacNeil) Dacey.

Jane lived fully and joyfully. After graduating from Stanbrook Hall, she flew as a stewardess with NWA until her marriage to John (Jack) Bartikoski in 1960. Together they had five wonderful children. Through the years, Jane was active in social, civic and spiritual activities. She worked for several years at the Duluth Clinic where she made lifelong friends.

Jane loved to travel and made annual winter trips to their condo in Puerto Vallarta, several extended trips to Europe with her sister and many many trips to visit family around the USA and Canada.

For over 50 years, she insured the comfort and enjoyment of all of her extended family at gatherings at their lake cabin (Big Pine), making sure everyone had a wonderful time.

Through the years, she was lifted up and comforted by her Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her two brothers, William F. Dacey and James C. Dacey.

Jane took pleasure in and was a great appreciator of life. She was kind, loving, dignified, witty and wise. She was loved by all who met her and she will be dearly missed by her family: son, John (Marlene) Bartikoski, Duluth; daughters, Mary (Jon) Nelson of Montana, Lisa (David) Hoffman, Duluth, Paula (Robert) Moon, Maple Grove, MN and Julie (Robert) Coleman of Georgia; her sister, Cornelia Dacey, Duluth; grandchildren, Chris Toland (MT), Andrea Toland (CT), Katie Rogers (CA), Brennan Nelson (WA), Joshua Bartikoski (MN), Abby Bartikoski (MN), Jacqualyn Marshall (MN), Heather Hoffman (MN), Dylan Moon (MN), Ryan Moon (MN), Robbie Coleman (GA), Kimberly Butler (GA), Stephanie Coleman (GA); 10 great-grandchildren, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24th at 10:30 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 1419 St. Benedict St., Duluth, MN 55811.

We would like to thank Dr. Sreedhar Devathi of Essentia Health and the supportive and caring staff at The Pines III.
