Obituary of Karen Meilahn

Karen Meilahn, 77 of Monticello, MN died Thursday, January 11 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo, Minnesota. 

Karen was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on March 19, 1941 to Peter and Mary Pesonen. She graduated from Wausau High School and shortly afterwards married Ronald Meilahn also of Wausau. In 1966, they moved to Rochester with their 2 kids, Carri & John.

Karen was a real estate agent for over 25 years. After working for Dr. Keith Churchill, DDS for several years, she started at K&K Real Estate in 1978. Her successful career continued at various places. She retired from Edina Realty. She was an active member of PEO, Chapter DS serving as president a couple times.

In 2000, she and Ron retired in Minocqua, Wisconsin near her childhood lake home. There she was an involved volunteer for the Lakes Association and helped manage the gift shop at Howard Young Medical Center. She was also member of Ascension Lutheran Church, a member of PEO Chapter EO, and a member of the Northwoods PEO group. 

Karen is survived by her husband of 59+ years, Ron Meilahn, their children Carri Tedstrom and John Meilahn, 8 grand children and her sister, Kirstin McCallum.

Deceased's funeral arrangements:A memorial service will be held in Minocqua, Wisconsin at a later date this summer.
