Gary was a good listener, problem solver, and aways willing and able to help whoever needed it.
When I crewed with Gary on his sailboat I felt safe with his skills of sailing and teaching what was the best way to do things.
He was an example of a good friend to all in the sailing group.
We would have spirited debates about ideas outside his grasp and agree to disagree and continue on with what we had to get done.
I bet with his skills at work or play many peoples lives were improved or preserved because he was committedly there.
Thank you Gary for your contribution to my life..

Dearest Lyn and family,
Gary will be deeply missed by Dave and myself. I recall how he came over and helped Dave when we first started Optical Engineering of Minnesota almost 30 years ago. But most recently it was our 2 trips to Wyoming for the August Eclipse in 2017 where we spent a week together enjoying the event. A soft spoken man with a twinkle in his eye always smiling with a great laugh. Many many phone calls over the years to keep in touch, we will miss that.
Lyn, you are not alone---we are here for you. Love to all, Joy

Our deepest sorrow for your loss.
Although he was my fathers cousin I felt closer to him. We will miss Gary's sense of humor, ability to provide a sarcastic side to the world's woes and his realistic take on humanity.
I will miss him greatly!

Gary was a long time colleague at Honeywell. A very smart and good man. His dry sense of humor led to many great comments on a broad range of topics. I have lost a good friend.

Lyn, I'm so very sorry. Loss is the price we pay, and it is indeed the most difficult part of love.

Dear Lyn,
I love the photo of Gary, smiling in his beloved outdoors. It reminds me of the impish grin that accompanied his one-of-a-kind sense of humor. May you find comfort in the love of friends and rich memories of Gary.
