Obituary of Duane Herold

Duane was born on October 23, 1928 in Duluth, MN to Ray and Florence Herold. He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1946. Duane graduated from Cal-Aero Technological Institute in aeronautical engineering. He worked at Beech Aircraft as a design engineer from 1949-1954. He served in the US Air Force from 1954-1957 at Edwards Air Force base in California as a flight test engineer. After leaving the Air Force, he attended the University of Minnesota to study aeronautical engineering and working at the Honeywell Co in the aerospace and defense facilities from 1959 until his retirement in 1990. Duane is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Mary. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Margie, step-daughter, Amy Thomas; brothers, Darrell (Diane) of Roseville, CA, Dennis (Sylvia) of Duluth, MN; sisters Joyce Peterson and Beverly Berg, both of Duluth, MN and Beryl (Robert) Nissen of Antioch, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota on Grand Ave in Duluth, MN at a later date.
