Obituary of Gloria June (Buetow) Wartman

Gloria June (Buetow) Wartman, of Shorewood, MN. Born April 8th 1928 died peacefully Dec. 14, 2018 at 90 years of age. Preceded in death by husband Philip. Survived by children Gail (Chris) Bollis, Tom (Rea), Jacque (Michael) Diederichs, Phil (Sherill), Michael (Cindy), Liz (John) Mugford, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grand-children. Gloria married the love of her life, Philip B Wartman, on November 16, 1948. As owner of Villa Beauty Salon in Excelsior, started in 1958, Gloria served the women of the Lake Minnetonka area for over 25 years. When Gloria and Phil started spending winters Hawaii, she continued as a stylist at a resort there for another 25 years. Gloria was also an expert seamstress, quilter, baker, and in later years a favorite "greeter" at her daughter's store, the General Store of Minnetonka. She enjoyed sharing her stories, listening to others' stories & laughing with people her whole life. She was vacationing in Hawaii, her second home, last March when she suffered a stroke, just shy of her 90th birthday. Many thanks to the BeeHive Homes of Excelsior for their compassionate care the last 6 months. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. (visitation 10-10:45 a.m.) at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 23290 Hwy 7, Excelsior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Our Savior Lutheran, Excelsior, or Messiah Lutheran, Ewa Beach, HI.
