E. Louise Fox Colalillo

E. Louise Fox Colalillo, 80, of Duluth, died on Monday, December 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital after a courageous 18 year battle with Parkinson's disease.

She was born September 14, 1938, the only child of Edna and Wilbur Fox. She attended East High School and graduated from Duluth Central in 1956. She attended UMD and graduated from the MN School of Business in 1958. Louise was employed by St. Louis County Social Services for 30 years, retiring in 1999.

In recent years, Louise coordinated Project Linus and Blanket Buddies, providing quilts and blankets to children in hospitals and families in shelters. Many children also had warm hands because of Louise's hand-knit mitten donations.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husbands, Glenn Maxham and Al Colalillo.

She is survived her children, Kristine (Patrick) Dwyer of Barnes, WI and Florence, AZ, Karen (Charles) Hardy of San Antonio, TX, and Scott (Joyce) Maxham of Waupaca, WI; grandchildren, Kelsey (John) Jimenez, Kyra (John) Kopetsky, Chase and Paige Hardy, Holly and Elly Maxham; and great grandson Clark Jimenez.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place in the spring at New Life Lutheran Church in Duluth.

A special thank you to St. Mary's Hospital 9 West staff, caregiver Kristin Goff, Pastor Dave Norland, caring friends (Julie, Harry, Nancy, Dick), and the wonderful staff at Heritage Haven who cared for Louise since 2016.
