Obituary of June I. "Libby" Anderson

June I. "Libby" Anderson, age 86, longtime resident of Duluth passed away Friday, December 14, 2018, at Solvay Hospice House, with her loving family at her side.

She was born August 1, 1932 on her parent's farm in Highlanding, Pennington County, MN to Andrew and Marie (Kristofferson) Fimrite. In 1952, Libby graduated from high school in Goodridge, MN.

After high school Libby moved to Hibbing, MN, where she worked at the Remington Hardware Store as a bookkeeper and met her future husband. On June 30, 1956 Libby married Dale L. Anderson and they then moved to Duluth.

Libby worked as an Avon Manager for 18 years while her children were small. She then worked as the Manager of Foreman and Clark, retiring in 1986.

Libby was a member of the Piedmont Little League and the Duluth Hortus Club.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and aunt to many. Libby enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography, baking and cooking for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Rodger; her parents; five sisters, Beatrice, Myrtle, Ruth, Mae and Ethel; brothers, Morris and Norman.

Libby will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Dale; children, Bruce (Susan) Anderson and Marie (Steve) Krueth; grandchildren, Debbie, Glen, Earl, Terrence, Karl, Amy, Angela (Matt), Jason, Dustin, Sydney and Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Tre', Lily, Tegan, Elias, Cecilia, Austin, Josie and Hunter; sisters, Lorraine and Maryann; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Solvay Hospice House for their tender, loving care of Libby.

Memorials are preferred to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Solvay Hospice House.

Gathering of family and friends from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Dec. 29th at Westminster Presbyterian Church 9030 Beaudry St., Duluth. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota.
