Obituary of John Leppla

John "Jack" Leppla. Age 90. Born August 22, 1928, in St Paul to Lester and Dorothy passed away peacefully after a short illness on November 13, 2018. Preceded in death by his wife (Tip) of 61 years, they enjoyed each other's love and companionship. Survived by their children Jay (Elaine), David (Melanie), and Susan; grandchildren Kathryn, Christopher, Eli, and Katelyn; sister Janet (Jerry). He attended Central High School in St Paul and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1951, where he was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He worked for Honeywell for 40 years where he retired as a Director in the Honeywell Bull Division. An avid outdoors person, he enjoyed softball, sailing, skating, camping, canoeing, and skiing with friends and family. He was instrumental in starting youth hockey programs in Deephaven, MN and Sudbury, MA. He loved bringing his family together during the holidays at their second home in Aspen. A Celebration of Life will take place at St Edwards Episcopal Church, 865 N Ferndale Rd, Wayzata, MN on January 5 from 11AM to 2PM. Please join us for memory sharing, music, and a bite to eat. Memorials preferred to University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
