Obituary of Stanley Charles Johnson

Stanley Charles Johnson, 73, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Stan was drafted out of high school to serve in the Army in artillery for the Vietnam War. He worked for a logging company in Oregon for a time, but ultimately he settled back in Minnesota where he worked for the State in the Grain Inspection Division for over 25 years.

Stan was an artist and he did amazing wildlife oil paintings, even winning the 1996 Trout Stamp. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing guitar. He even built his own log home with help from his wife, Sherry and family and friends.

Stan is preceded in death by mother, Evelyn; step-father, Raymond Crotteau; and father, Armas Johnson.

Stan is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughters, Cassie (Scott Heule) Johnson, Geneva (Skye) Morse, and Tracy (Walt) Bindrim; grandchildren, newborn twins, Emery and Bennett Morse, Ashlie (Kerry) Newbill, Cody (Devin) Bindrim; great-grandchild, Finley Newbill; siblings, Ron Johnson, Sharyn (Louie) Hubbell, Earl Crotteau; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior, Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, in Duluth.
