Obituary of Lyle W. Nahley

Lyle W. Nahley died on November 28, 2018 at the age of 88. Lyle was born in Grant County, WI on February 11, 1930 to the late Ervin Nahley and Geraldine (Sale) Nahley. He graduated from Muscoda High School and went on to earn a teaching degree from Platteville Teachers College and later a Masters from the University of Wisconsin Madison. In 1951 he went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. After two years he returned to teaching, beginning in New Glarus WI, where he met and later married Shirley M. deLormier at First Methodist Church in Monroe, WI in 1955. Lyle and Shirley would then move to Green Bay to continue their teaching careers. Lyle spent his career teaching chemistry and coaching a variety of sports. He received several awards throughout his career including Green Bay Public School Teacher of the Year in 1982. Lyle was a member of the Preble Park Presbyterian Church and most recently the First United Presbyterian Church of De Pere. He was an active member of both. 

Survivors include his wife Shirley and their sons Tim (Denise) Nahley and Tom Nahley; 5 grandchildren Josh, Alyssa, Amber, Aprylle, and Alec Nahley; and sister Carol (Nahley) Bursinger.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, December 17th at the First United Presbyterian Church located at 605 N. Webster Ave. De Pere, WI. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Visitors are welcome to join a luncheon reception after the service. Lyle will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
