Obituary of Clyde John Kangas

Clyde John Kangas, 82 of Virginia, MN passed away quietly at the Virginia Hospital on November 26, 2018, in the presence of family.

He was born January 27, 1936 in Iron River, WI to Aune and Eino Kangas. Clyde was a 1954 graduate of Iron River High School where he played forward on the boys' basketball team.

Following high school, Clyde spent four years in the US Air Force stationed in Oklahoma and South Carolina where he received computer training. He retired from the Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium in Duluth, MN in 1999 after 21 years as an analyst.

Clyde loved spending time with his wife of 32 years, Judy, whom he missed deeply following her passing, as well as family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; brothers, Keith and Arnold Kangas; and brother-in-law Joe Sajdak.

Clyde is survived by his sisters, Gloria Sajdak and Nancy (Bill) Curren; son, Brian (Betty) Kangas, daughter Wendy Tekler, step-daughters Terri (Shane) Beaudin and Lorri (Eli) Drake; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the folks at Edgewood Vista in Virginia for providing Clyde with support and companionship during the last few years.

A gathering of family and friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8th at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
