Obituary of Laurie J. Dieter

Dieter, Laurie Jean (St. Julien) of Bloomington, MN, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2018 at the age of 62 after a battle with Parkinson's and Lyme disease. She is survived by Ray, her husband of 32 years; son, Baylor; daughter, Brook; son-in-law, Kevin; and grandsons, Hudson, Crusoe, and Rowan. Laurie was born in Hibbing, MN, the youngest of five children. She first heard the good news that Jesus Christ died to save the lost in 6th grade, and spent the rest of her life seeking to know Him and share His love with others. A three-sport athlete at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Laurie grad-uated in 1979. After a stint as a high school PE teacher, she eventually made her way to Intran where, as a computer technician, she first met Ray. Their first date was a tennis match, and the rest of their relationship was just as fun & spirited. Ray and Laurie were married in 1986, and raised a family in Bloomington, MN. Laurie was exceptionally servant-hearted. She spent her days helping others and supporting her family, always quick to share one of the hundreds of encouraging Bible verses that she had memorized. She was an excellent cook, a fantastic listener, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Laurie will be dearly missed, but we take comfort knowing we will see her again. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 27th at 4pm at Sovereign Grace Church, which is located at 500 E Travelers Trail, Burnsville, MN 55337. There will be a visitation before the service, starting at 3pm.
