Obituary of Carole Anne (Repensky) Kendzora

Carole Anne (Repensky) Kendzora died peacefully on November 17th, with her family by her side. She was born November 1, 1933 to Lillian (Cullen) and Thor Bjorkland. Carole was raised by her mother and adoptive father, Floyd Repensky. She grew up in the East Hillside neighborhood, attending St. Anthony's School and graduating from Stanbrook Hall in 1951. Trained as an IBM keypunch operator, Carole enjoyed her work in the Auditor's office in the Duluth Courthouse. She held several other positions throughout her life.

Carole married John Kendzora on May 29th 1954 in Duluth. They raised their family in Cloquet before moving back to Duluth in 1982.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish in Cloquet, St John the Evangelist Parish in Duluth, and most recently worshiped at St Ann's where she resided for the past 3 years.

Carole was a talented artist and loved baking and sewing for her family. She was a woman of strong faith, constantly praying for her family and friends. She truly lived her faith, as she was kind and generous to all. Carole cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and most recently as a great grandmother.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband of sixty one years, John. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and David Rectenwald; son Joseph (Kelly); grandchildren Hayley (Brian) Rasmussen, Nicholas and Joseph; and great-granddaughter Grace Maryanne; sisters Joan Spreitzer, Edie VanCamp, Judy (Sonny) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Carole's life will be held November 30 at St Lawrence Church in Duluth. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul Catholic Charities Organization, or the Damiano Center in Duluth.
