Obituary of Fern Mae (Carr) O'Connell

Fern Mae (Carr) O'Connell died Tuesday, November 20th 2018 in Solvay Hospice House.

She was born December 23rd 1925 to Wallace & Esther Carr in Rochester, MN. Fern worked many years at Western National Bank. She loved to garden and fish with Roy on the St. Louis River and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake with family, and her potica recipe will be passed down through the generations.

Fern is preceded in death by her husband Roy; son Thomas O'Connell

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy O'Connell (Dave), Jackie (Dennis) Stowe; son Rick O'Connell; granddaughters, Michelle Stowe, Lisa Slygh, Crystal Leal, Sheila Cox; grandsons, Thomas O'Connell and David Engberg.

We want to thank her 2 granddaughters Michele and Lisa for all the loving care they gave her. Also the Solvay Hospice House for all they did for her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 am at Cremation Society of MN, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am.
