Auntie Susie,
I cannot say and I will not say, That you are dead, you are just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of hand You have wandered into an unknown land; And left us dreaming of how you linger there. I think of her as faring on, I Think of her still the same way, I say; She is not dead, she is just away
We can shed tears that she is gone. Or we can smile because she lived. We can close our eyes and pray that she will come back. Or we can open our eyes and see all that she has left. Our hearts can be empty because we can’t see her. Or It can be full of the love that We shared, wevcan turn our backs on tomorrow and live for yesterday, Or we can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. We can remember her and only that she is gone. Or we can cherish her memory and let it live on, we can cry, close our minds, be empty, and turn your back. Or we can do what she would have wanted, smile, open our eyes, love and live. I don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows, pains and tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched… for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved by all of us.
