Obituary of Terry Edward LeMay
LeMay, Terry E., age 74, of Saint Paul, passed away at home on Nov. 2, 2018. Terry was a talented artist who joyfully painted to the end - the color, details and shapes – an orchid’s thick leaves after the blossom has dropped, three pair of brightly colored jeans -an ode to a girl admired from afar. He never stopped loving the arts; music, sculpture, good writing and photography. Terry worked at St. Catherine’s University for 17 years. Through terminal illness, he gratefully remained independent, without pain, until the archangels lifted him into the light to realize the Divine he longed for as a lifelong meditator. He was one of the first teachers of transcendental meditation in Minnesota. He studied in India with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Terry’s sense of humor never failed us in the darkest hours. When asked his religion, he told the old joke “I’m a Frisbeetarian, we believe when you die, your soul flies up on the roof and you can’t get it down.” He lived in minimal comfort in his small studio apartment. A few long, deep friendships sustained him. We’re sure he is eating his favorite D.Q. Blizzards in heaven, celebrating joining his two brothers, Dave and Pete, getting the boys back in the band, with Dad and Mom stomping their feet to the rhythm – carefree at last. He will be deeply missed by his twin sisters, Donna and Diana, their families, relatives and good friends. Celebration of Life 1-5pm Saturday, November 17th in the reception room at Cremation Society of Minnesota – 1979 Hudson Rd.- St. Paul (651-789-0404).
