Obituary of Barbara Phyllis Kroll

Barbara Phyllis Kroll, 93 took her last breath on October 29, 2018 while being sung her favorite hymn and surrounded by her girls Sandy, Suzanne & Kayla.

Barbara was born in Fredrick, WI March 8, 1925 to Phillip and Olga (Simonson) Anderson. She attended Denfeld High School. Married Olaf Welsand in 1944, (divorced in 1950), married Reuben G. Kroll in 1957 who she made her home with in Proctor, MN for nearly 60 years.

Barbara worked her entire life: She helped raise her siblings, raised her own five children with Reuben, and created both a beautiful home and lake property to be shared by family & friends.

After retiring from health care in 1986, Barbara and Reuben traveled extensively throughout the United States. They also spent six weeks with dear friends exploring the culture in Mexico. After exploring various snowbird options they eventually decided to spend their winter months in Apache Junction, AZ.

Barbara could never sit still and was always busy. If she wasn't baking, she used her artistic talents to crochet beautiful afghans, create gorgeous quilts and make thousands of handcrafted greeting cards. All individually tailored and thoughtfully given as gifts. She enjoyed reading; and in her younger years, she and Reuben would go dancing anywhere with good music.

She was active in the Munger PTA, Solway Volunteer Flamettes/Fire Department, Maple Grove Homemakers, Munger Monday Lunch Bunch, and Forbes United Methodist Church in both the Lois and Rebecca Circles.

Barbara is joined in Heaven with her husband of 61 years, Reuben G Kroll; children, Steven C. Kroll, and Jane B Kroll.

She is survived by children, Dennis R Welsand (Lilly), Sandra J Westlund (Terry), Suzanne I Johnson (Michael); grandchildren, Shawn E Mehling, Joshua G Mehling, Jeremy C Kroll (Jayme), Kayla J Erdmann (Alec); great-grandchildren, Orianna, Alexis, Hunter, Jaret, Mikah; great-great grandchild, Landon; sister, Lavonne Palusky, brother, Allen/Andy Anderson (Johnnie), sister Marilynn/Sandy Marciniak; brother-in-law, Harlan Kroll (Marilynn), and countless extended family and friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be, Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 3-5 pm at the Cremation Society of MN 4100 Grand Ave Duluth MN and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 @ 11am at Forbes United Methodist Church 33 Grove St Proctor MN
