Obituary of Arline Clarise Swanson

Arline Clarise Swanson, 92, of Duluth passed away Tuesday, October 30th 2018 in Bayshore Residence.

She was born March 23, 1926 in Duluth to Carl and Auslaug Oss. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church where she was very active over the years serving the Lord in many ways, including singing in the choir, chairing Fall Festivals, serving lutefisk suppers and as president of the church women. Arline was also active in Daughters of the Nile (a division of Shriners wives) where she eventually became Queen. Arline was married to Arthur B Swanson Jr. for over 50 years and together they loved to dance, even winning a dance competition in the 80's. Arline graduated from Central High School where she met Art in the band. They married after he returned from the So. Pacific after WWII.

Arline is survived by a daughter Karen (Robert) Kegley; granddaughters Amanda (Juan) Ocadiz, Marja (Brent) Erickson and Karli Wiinanen; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and several cousins in Norway.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur B Swanson Jr., a daughter Carol Wiinanen, her mother Auslaug Oss, father Carl Oss, and sister, Margaret Olson.

Services will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 1:00 pm in the First Lutheran Church Chapel, 1100 E Superior St., Duluth, MN.
