Dustin will be missed by many. Not only by his immediate family, his brothers and sisters of IBEW Local 242 and many other IBEW Locals he worked in while traveling for work throughout this country. A loss to one is a loss to all of us in the IBEW family. Dustin fought for the working men and women in the trades. He protected our Collective bargaining rights and installed electrical work to the high standards of the National Electrical Code and was not afraid to let someone on the job know if they were installing it incorrectly. He also looked out for our work and called my many times to report a non-union or out of town contractor performing our work, which some we were able to turn around and get the work to put our IBEW members to work on the job. I send my deepest sympathy to Todd and Susan Thygeson and his whole family. Thank you for looking out for us and Rest in Peace my brother.
Don Smith
Business Manager Local 242

I remember when we were doing the Potlatch expansion back in 1999 and there was a box of 3-piece couplings that were made in India and Dustin spray-painted them with orange paint because they were made overseas. It has stuck with me to this day. I have spent thousands of dollars since looking at country of origin and I am a signatory contractor. Thanks Dustin!
