Obituary of John A. Osterberg

John A. Osterberg, age 86, of Chaska, passed away at home Oct. 23. Born in Mpls. and graduated from So. High School in 1949. Jack spent 4 yrs. in Naval Aviation during the Korean War and most of his adult life in sales, particularly flooring. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Francis (William) Andre and Lois (Cecil) Smith. Survived by best friend and wife of 38 yrs., Susan; children: Jill (Pete) Schmidt, David, Steven (Christina), Kristen (Craig) Hanson and Eric (Sue); step-children, Jeanene (Darin) Ness and Amy (Jim) Leonard; 10 grandchildren and sister, Janet (Jim) Finegan. Jack will be remembered for his great attitude, wit, never forgetting a birthday or phone number, his love of travel – especially by car, all water, a good steak and a cocktail. Per Jack’s wishes, there will be no service. Donations may be made to Franciscan Brothers of Peace or the DAV, Jack’s charities of choice.
