Obituary of Karin Jean Robinson

Robinson, Karin J. Age 51, of Savage, passed away on September 27, 2018 after a multi-year struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tim; her three children, Josh, Erik, and Kristin. Preceded in death by her mother, Shirley.

Born October 3rd, 1966, Karin was proud of her Danish and German heritage. She attended Buffalo High School and later attended the U of MN. She enjoyed playing clarinet and continued to participate in marching band and concert band through her years at the U of MN. She graduated in 1990, with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and started her career in various facets of quality at Quality Assured Label in Hopkins. She married Tim a year later and had Josh, Erik and Kristin over the course of the next six years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and withdrew from the workforce to devote her time to her children. She truly loved working with kids and after a short period in a variety of jobs, she joined the Burnsville, Eagan, Savage School District 191, in 2006. She worked as a paraprofessional in Hidden Valley Elementary School until Alzheimer’s affected her ability to manage the complexities of work and she retired in 2014. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her kids, and times at ‘The Garage’ and on the lake. Karin loved to travel, especially to New Orleans, where she loved the food, the culture, but most importantly the music. She was a woman of many interests, a dedicated reader, and runner. Her greatest joy and pride was her family. She loved to watch her three kids grow and launch into their own school/college experiences.

A celebration of Karin’s life will be held on November 3rd at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, Chapel, 9600 163rd Street W Lakeville, MN 55044.
