Obituary of Marie Lois Kossic

Marie Lois Kossic (Wallin), age 90, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 surrounded by family at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. Marie was born on January 19, 1928 to Albert and Ruth (Cooley) in Superior, WI. Marie was born, raised and lived in Superior, WI her whole life, with the last 3 years as a resident of Villa Marina in Superior, WI.

Marie married Donald Kossic on September 14, 1946 in Duluth, MN and celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2007.

Marie worked as a special education teacher in Duluth, MN.  Marie and Don were very active in many different clubs and democratic politics. She loved to garden, was active in politics and read - mystery thrillers were her favorite. She was a very faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Marie is survived by daughter, Marie "Bonney" (Gary) of Superior, WI; 4 grandchildren: Carey (Lionel) of Superior, WI; Rachel (Justin) of Anoka, MN; Brenna (Bobbie) of Superior, WI; and Ryan of Champlin, MN; 5 great grandchildren: Cody, Colton and Samantha of Superior, WI; and, Victoria "Tori" and Maximus "Max" of Anoka, MN. By her 3 brothers: Marvin (Helga) of Hopkinsville, KY; Curtis (Mary) of Beaufort, MO; and, Kenny of Racine, WI; and, 1 sister Marilyn (George) of Jordan, MN. Predeceased in death by her parents Albert and Ruth; husband, Donald; daughter, Vikki Ummel Frieden; 4 brothers: Melvin Wallin, Richard Wallin, Merle Wallin and Gary Wallin; and, 2 sisters Emma "Irene" Pettit and Florence "Tootie" Nelson.

No service will be held per Marie's wishes.  Burial will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, WI.
