Obituary of Daniel Charles Suter

Daniel C. Suter, age 70, of Eagan, MN passed away Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 following a prolonged illness. He was preceded by parents Dave and Mary Jane Suter. 

Dan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy, son Robert (Dana), grandchildren Aurora (age 3) and Ryne (20 months), siblings Janet Halvorson (Jon), Tom Suter, and Jack Suter (Elaine), 15 nieces and nephews and 31 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dan grew up in Canton, SD, received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota and an MBA from the University of St Thomas. Peggy and Dan married in 1971 and after a short stay in Canton, they moved to the Twin Cities where Dan had a career in information technology management and consulting. After a whirlwind trip to the Pacific Northwest, they welcomed their son, Robert, in December 1976.

While he was able, Dan enjoyed playing sports, particularly skiing, golf and softball . He also enjoyed bridge and other card games with friends, becoming a wickedly aggressive bridge player. He also enjoyed taking his son and nieces/nephews fishing.

Family reunions were a highlight of each year whether it was summers at Lake Okoboji in Iowa or holidays in Canton, SD or Rock Rapids, IA. Dan particularly enjoyed family get togethers in the Twin Cities and visits from friends.

Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of MN.

A private family service will be held at the Eagan Community Center on November 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a visitation from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
