Obituary of Ronald G. Poulin

Ronald G. Poulin, age 68, of Apple Valley, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 24th after a long battle with COPD. Preceded in death by his wife Jeri; parents, Joseph and Carolyn; siblings Gary, Judy and Raymond. Survived by son, Tony; brother Joseph Jr; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In Ron's words "I don't want people moping around over me. You should go and do what makes you happy." Ron lived into these words as his happiness came from caring about those around him, sometimes more than himself. Ron grew up in the small town of Winona, MN and was active in the military during the Vietnam War. He preferred to remember more of the former than the latter. Upon returning to civilian life Ron attended some college but instead decided to work in the trades as a carpenter. Along the way he met his wife of more than three decades, Jeri. Ron advanced to journeyman carpenter status but unfortunately suffered an injury at work which left him unable to continue in his trade. Despite going through the second half of his life with chronic debilitating pain because of this injury, Ron did his best to be supportive of his family and close friends. He would always be there with a willing ear, a genuine smile and a joke or two. Ron also took up a new trade skill to be a great purveyor of Little Debbie snacks. Ron did enjoy a good laugh and will be sorely missed. Ron's family will honor his wishes with no formal arrangements and will celebrate his life privately. Interment is planned at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery for both Ron and his wife Jeri so they may rest together in their favorite place of peace.
