Kim was my first best friend. It was her house where I experienced my first sleepover away from home. I'll never forget the first time we played together. It was at their apartment where her and her mom, Cindy, rented the basement apartment. She shared a box of Sugar Smacks with me. I was so excited because my mom was a food nazi back then. LOL. We were inseparable from right before kindergarten until the 4th grade where as children do, grew apart. I never forgot her and never will. I LOVED her and couldn't wait to hang out with her. I would have moved in and lived with Cindy and Kim happily! She was a HUGE part of my childhood and so was Cindy.
Some of the MANY memories I have with her:
-singing and dancing to Christmas songs in the basement apartment
-playing in a big appliance box in the yard of the basement apartment
-eating cinnamon rolls before school and chips and cheese for snacks in the basement apartment
-playing at Powderhorn park. Cindy told us if we got too close to the lake, leeches would jump out and suck our blood. Her clever way to keep us from drowning! LOL
-going to Girls Meet with God on Wednesday evenings with her. So fun!!
-Playing with all her cousins!
-Singing and dancing to the Grease sound track in the duplex
-Praying that Cindy would bring us back a pizza from Pizza Shack when she got home after a fun night at the Poodle Club
-Her coming to my grandparents cabin
-Me going to her grandparents house and riding the golf cart
We always had fun. We never had drama. She was the most authentic and caring person and I LOVED her.
I'm looking forward to having a reunion beer with her when it's my turn to cross the river.
Bless her and Bless Cindy for allowing me into their lives at such an important and impressionable age.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all those experiences and memories.
