Obituary of Jerome D. Haldorson

Jerome D. Haldorson, age 83, of Duluth passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Jerome was born November 14, 1934 to Pat and Otto Haldorson. He grew up on a farm by Elizabeth, MN and eventually enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. He served in Korea and Japan.

Jerome married Betty Stender on April 25, 1959. He worked for Lampert Lumber and then moved to Silver Bay in 1962 to work at Reserve Mining until 1986. Jerome then went to work for the Duluth Housing Authority, retiring in 1999.

Jerome enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping. He also loved spending time with his grandkids. He traveled with Betty on many bus trips, which he enjoyed a great deal.

Preceding him in death are his parents and daughter, Deborah.

Jerome is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; daughters, Pam (Kevin) Christiansen and Laurie Johnson; son, Jerold (Kathy) Haldorson; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Greg) Berquist and Patty Haldorson; and brother, Rodney (Patsy) Haldorson.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29 at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
