Obituary of Leona Evelyn Piatz

It is with great sadness the family of Leona E. Piatz announces her passing on
September 21, 2018 at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her family at their home
in Cambridge, Minnesota.
Leona was born on September 20, 1949. On December 13, 1974 she married Ben A.
Piatz. Together they raised two sons, Aric and Patrick, and one daughter, Carrie.
Leona had a passion for working with her hands. Among her many hobbies, she was an
avid gardener and had the ability to sew amazingly. She was known by her family as
their best advisor. With her quick wit and problem-solving skills, she proved that she
was (whether they liked it or not) always right. She was a loving wife, an incredible
mother, and an even better grandmother. To her grandchildren, Emily, Sara, and
Amanda Piatz, Paisley Johnson, and Philip Wald, she is known as their rock when
everything else crumbles around them. They will always remember the love their
grandma had for them. Leona will be deeply missed by all.
Leona is proceeded in death by her brothers Patrick, David, and Glen (Rusty) Martini,
sister in law Marlene Martini and brother-in-law Frank Springer.
Leona is survived by her husband Ben Piatz, son Aric (Tanya) Piatz, son Patrick
(Martha) Piatz, and daughter Carrie (Jeffery) Johnson; brother Mike (Jacki) Martini of St.
Paul; sisters Lorna (Jim) Norberg of Olgilvie, Lois (Dennis) Peterson of Brook Park,
Lynn (Dennis) Hanson of Brook Park, Laura (Paul) Kryzer of Brook Park, LaVonne
Springer of Sandstone, as well as, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear
friends. 
A Celebration of Life, will be held at the Braham Hall, on Sat Sep 29, 2018 from 3-6pm.
