Obituary of Deborah Gjerde Barile

Deborah Gjerde Barile died in her Minneapolis home on September 15, 2018 having lived a life full of love, family and travel.

A wonderful mother and early childhood development educator, Debbie was a lover of life. During her many years raising her family and teaching in San Francisco, she connected with most of the children she taught, often forging relationships with families that lasted years beyond the classroom. She had the ability to make everyone feel like family. Debbie was passionate about travel, dedicating most of her trips to exploring Italy.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Eloise Gjerde and her brother, Bruce Gjerde. She is also preceded by her beloved pugs, Lulu & Tubby. Debbie is survived by daughters, Kierstin (Eric) Kropp and Tatum Barile (Bryan Bullock); son, Peter Barile (Jon Wolles); grandchildren, Spencer Kropp and Gavin Kropp. She is also survived by her father, Peter Gjerde; brother, Tim (Nancy) Gjerde; two sisters, Liz Norton and Melissa Gjerde.
