Obituary of Cathy Larson

Cathy "Hamma" Larson, 69, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Essentia Health surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born in Windom, Minnesota on August 17, 1948 to Harry and Ann (Ihrig) Loken. She attended and graduated from Pequot Lakes High School and St. Cloud State University. Cathy worked as an elementary school teacher in Osakis, MN for many years. Later she was employed with Udac, retiring in 2014. Cathy's great love in life was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping with her daughters, settling down with a good book and visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina with her family She is preceded in death by an infant daughter Elizabeth Larson; sister Jeannie Tolzman and former husband Tom Larson. Cathy is survived by her children Brian (Becky), Nick (Randi), Catherine (Jason) Schneeweis, Cassandra (Keith) Kyrola; grandchildren, Haley, Caitlin, Ashley, Sydney, Isabelle, Addie, Emma, Riley and Thomas; sister Betsy Meistrell; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and dogs, Bailey and Beanz. The family would like to thank the staff at Essentia Health for the extraordinary care they provided Cathy. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1pm until the 2 pm memorial service on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church 1108 E 8th St, Duluth, MN.
