Obituary of Clifford Bakke
Clifford Bakke, 85, of Duluth died January 18, at St. Luke's Hospital Hospice Unit with his family by his side. He was born in Duluth on October 29, 1932.
Cliff was a craftsman, builder, pilot, piper-fitter, welder, project manager and superintendent. He was a voracious reader and researcher, loved the outdoors, animals and the simple pleasures of life. His biggest joy in life was being a grandfather and spending time with his grandson with whom he shared many adventures.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; his parents; six brothers (Berger, Maurice, Ivan, Robert, Henry and Howard); and a sister, Irene Jonassen.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Martins, and grandson, Alexey Martins; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Erling Jonassen; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Don) Johnson.
Celebration of Life: Visitation at Noon, Wednesday, January 31, at Peace United Church of Christ, 1111 N 11th Ave East, Duluth MN, followed by a brief memorial at 1 p.m.
