Obituary of Alice M. Eskro

Alice M. Eskro, 83, went to be with the lord on January 19, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Alice was born on November 19, 1934 in Deer Creek, MN to Mildred and Fay Watkins. On January 18, 1951 Alice married Robert Worden. During their marriage they lived in many cities, including Wadena, Dilworth, and Staples, MN as well as Cedarburg, WI. Together they were blessed with five children. Robert passed away in January 1988. Alice was married to Robert Eskro on June 18, 1983. Together, they enjoyed traveling and spent most of their married life in Robbinsdale, MN. Robert preceded Alice in death in January 2008. Alice moved to Crystal, MN shortly thereafter. Alice’s work ethic was evident through her time spent working at Ringer Sewing Factory, Mercury Motors, and with senior home health care, where she ultimately retired from in 2010. She will be especially remembered for her courageous fight with breast cancer, which she defeated two times! Alice always displayed kindness and generosity towards family, friends, and near strangers. She also enjoyed spending time traveling with her friends or alone to visit family. Alice was diligent about attending special family functions including baptism, confirmations, and weddings. She was a very independent woman, and enjoyed sewing, afternoons at the horse track with family, casino trips with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Most notable, the intricate scrapbooks she created for each of her grandchildren on their high school graduations. Alice loved spending time with and hearing stories about her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were all very special to her. Alice will always be remembered and deeply missed by her children; Linda (Bryan) Knodel of New Rockford, ND; Robert (Carol) Worden of Edgemont, SD; Susan (Tim) Brawley of Pequot Lakes, MN; Randy (Jenny) Worden of Jordan, MN, son in law, Jerry Dukowitz of Baxter, MN, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bert, four siblings; Ellen, Arvilla, Dale, and Dennis, her daughter Gail Dukowitz, and grandsons Adam Allmaras and Trevor Dukowitz. Services will be January 27 at 5 pm, with visitation from 3-5 pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, MN with burial in Verndale, MN in the spring. Memorial contributions are welcome. The Susan G Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer and the Arthritis Foundation were special to Alice. Alice was an amazing source of strength, hope, advice, and humor to so many, and will be dearly missed.
