Obituary of Carolyn Ann Vevea

Vevea, Carolyn Ann (Quinn), age 67 of Chisago City, formerly of Litchfield and Zimmerman, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 19, 2018. Carolyn was born January 1, 1951, to Andrew and Jean Quinn of Litchfield, MN. Carolyn was a loving daughter, sister, mother and teacher with an infectious laugh and a passion for history. She attended primary school at School of St. Philip in Litchfield and Mount St. Benedict Academy in Crookston, where she graduated in 1968. Carolyn was very proud that after attending the College of St. Benedict in Collegeville, MN from 68 - 71, she returned to finish her bachelor's degree in education in 1993. Her most treasured roles were mother to her four daughters, Erin Vevea of Atlanta, GA, Marjorie Weinhagen (Christian) of Mounds View, MN, Jane Vevea (Daniel Wong) of Round Rock, TX, and Liz Vevea (Jason Holslin) of Chisago City, MN and grandmother to Andrew, Michael and Franklyn Weinhagen, George Wong and Adaline, Ulrik and Genevieve Holslin. Carolyn held a special place in her heart for her students and was very proud to have worked as an educator, primarily in special education, in the Hutchinson and Glencoe-Silver Lake districts. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, brother R. Joseph Quinn (Carole), sister-in-law, Janet Quinn and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, A.C. Quinn Jr. A very special note of thanks to St. Croix Hospice, especially Sarah Oswald and Mike Drury. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Philip 821 E 5th Street, Litchfield, MN. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Friday, January 26 from 5:30 - 9 p.m. Kellerman's Event Center 2222 4th Street White Bear Lake, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels Chisago City, MN or Minnesota Food Share, Minneapolis, MN.
