Obituary of John McKernan

John "Jack" McKernan, age 90, passed away January 20, 2018. Preceded in death by father, Nelson, mother, Dorothy, brother Bob, and sisters Jean and Pat. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gwen; daughters Karen, Barbara Keegan and Janie Undis (Tom), and son Kevin (Carolyn); grandchildren Joey and Ashley Undis, Kyle and Sean Keegan, and Nicole McKernan; beloved nieces and nephews, and special dog Toby. Jack grew up in Larchmont, NY and Westport, CT. After working with Hygrade Foods in Detroit, the family moved to Edina, where Jack was Director of International Sales at Land O'Lakes. He later joined Gwen as a Realtor with Edina Realty, and then for fun, worked at Fred Richards and Glen Lake Golf Courses. Jack was very active in the Lions Clubs of Edina and Minne-tonka, and was a former District Governor, and was also devoted to his Sandbaggers golf and card group. Services will be held February 16, 2018 at 11:00 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina. In lieu of flowers, donations to MN Lions Eye or Hearing Foundation, or to the Hopkins VFW Post 425 Sandbaggers Homeless Veterans Fund (100 Shady Oak Road, Hopkins 55343).
