Obituary of James T. Ullom

James T. Ullom, age 83, died peacefully on 1/23/18 after an acute decline from a chronic cardiac condition. He was thriving and active until the end. Born to Pearl and Arn Ullom in Shell Lake Wisconsin. The family later moved to Minneapolis where he met and married his high school sweetheart, June Davis. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary just before her death 2 years ago. Jim was the captain of the North High football team and June the head cheerleader. He was also an avid high school hockey and baseball player. Later he continued this sports passion as a dedicated fan. Jim was a proud US army Veteran in the engineer corp. He started his own plumbing company and helped launch and employ a number of friends and relatives in the business. Social and gregarious, he was always at his best in groups of people. Golf, bridge, bingo, cribbage and socializing were activities he enjoyed. When his grandchildren were little would spend long winters in California to be close to them. He is survived by his daughters, Jana Ullom Cramer and Dr. Jody Ullom; grandchildren, Kaveh Ullom Pourmehr and Kimia Ullom Pourmehr; sister-in-law, Carole Davis; and a large number of nieces and nephews Preceded in death by his wife, June Ullom; brothers, Bill and Norm Ullom; sisters-in-law, Louise and Jean Ullom; sister, Phyllis and her husband Vic Sandvig; and his brother-in-law, Karl Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcome for Relay for Life, River Falls, WI Team U-You Sisterhood . Service 3 PM Friday February 9th, visitation from 2:30-3 PM at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S. Edina MN 55435 (952)-924-4100.
