Obituary of David R. Odland

David R. Odland Sr., age 82, of Minneapolis, passed away on January 28th, 2018. Survived by partner, Patricia Sjoquist and her daughters Kerstin (John Koester) and Erin (Kurt Nelson); sons, Erik (Susanne Hanson), Kristoffer, and David Jr. (Connie); grandchildren, David III (Kristy), Melissa (Eric Olson), Hannah, Elijah, Ebon, and Sophie; great-grandchildren, Ian and Leah; brothers, James (Julie Bohlman) of Rochester, MN and Richard (Evelyn Izzarelli) of Sebastapol, CA; and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Norris and Evelyn (Hawkensen) of Northfield. Attended St. Olaf College for two years before transferring to the University of Minnesota. Graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent over 28 years with General Mills before retiring and joining Food Systems Design, Inc. as a consulting engineer. He enjoyed the outdoors, gourmet meals, tutoring students at Bancroft Elementary, and making people laugh. His quick wit will be greatly missed by family and many friends. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 24th 12-4 PM, short service starting 12:15 PM, at Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom, 5418 Wayzata Blvd., Golden Valley, MN 55416.
