Obituary of Harvey R. Johnson

Harvey R. Johnson passed away from dementia at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia, MN on Feb. 1, 2018. Harvey was born in Duluth to Alice and Julius Johnson on August 5, 1940, graduated in 1958 from Central High School and worked during his senior year at Marshall Wells. Harvey spent a short time with the Merchant Marines before working at Universal Electric for about 10 years. Then he started his own company, Harvey Johnson Electric, and retired after 30 years. Harvey served in many positions with the Electrical Workers #242. He was a dues paying member of many organizations including American Swedish Institute, Lake Superior Railroad Museum, Trinity Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners, Lake Avenue Loafers, Child Fund International. He also belonged to Wednesday Night Car Club and, in later years, Wednesday Breakfast Group. In 1989 he married Bonnie Leppala LoGuidice and they travelled to many car races. He loved old Fords and collected many during his life. He was preceded in death by his parents. Harvey is survived by wife Bonnie; children, Martin (Lexi) of Boseman, MT and Julie Johnson of Inver Grove, MN; grandchild, Alice Islam of Inver Grove, MN. He's also survived by sister, Janet (Lyle) Bohnen of Alexandria, MN; niece, Kristen (Trevis) and nephew, David (Jennifer); many cousins, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life and time of remembrance from 2 to 4, Wed. Feb. 7th at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN.
