Obituary of Carol Edith Rollin
Carol Edith (Lahtinen) Rollin, 79, formerly of Minne-tonka, died peacefully February 2, 2018 in Mound, MN. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many, her warm smile and sense of humor will be deeply missed. Carol was born to Edith and Carl Lahtinen (Peterson) in Minneapolis. She graduated from North High School in 1956 and attended the University of Minnesota. She married Thomas Rollin in 1962. They had two children. After Tom's death in 1992, Carol lived in Minnetonka until September 2016, when she moved to Lake Minnetonka Shores, Mound, to recover from a stroke. She traveled extensively, enjoyed golfing and walks around Lake Calhoun, and loved going out on the town with friends. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by parents, Edith and Carl; husband, Thomas; and brothers Paul, James, and Richard. She is survived by children: Scott Rollin (Lisa Bergin), Mike Rollin (Laura Flynn); grandchildren Alex, Ben, and Jacob Rollin, and Samantha and Niko Flynn Rollin; nephew Mark Lahtinen; many cousins; and longtime companion Roy Smith.
