Obituary of Sharon Kay Stoll

Sharon Kay (Soupir) Stoll age 71, of Brooklyn Park, and formerly of New Ulm, lost her 14 month battle with ALS on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Funeral Service Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 201 N. State Street., New Ulm, Minnesota with visitation at church 1 hour before service. Private interment at Saint Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, New Ulm. Sharon was born April 11, 1946 in Vesta Minnesota to Henry and Vivian Soupir. She grew up in Redwood Falls Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Delbert Stoll on March 2, 1963 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Sharon worked at New Ulm Telecom and 3M for 35 years until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed watching her children play baseball, football and basketball and enjoyed going to the lakes with family and friends. Since her retirement she has enjoyed wintering in Weslaco Texas where she assisted with group dinners at her retirement park and raised funds for school supplies for local schools. When not in Texas Sharon spent the time residing with her children and enjoyed spending time with her friends and grandchildren and attending their events. Her favorite past time was playing cards with her family and friends; she was still playing cards three days before her passing. Survivors include her children, sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Joan Stoll of Brooklyn Park, Chad and Alicia Stoll of Buffalo, and daughter Jill Shavlik of Eden Prairie; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Lynn Hofeldt) of Kalispell MT and Emily Stoll, Desmond (Becca Freese) and Dexter Shavlik, Shelby, Alandra, and Annika Stoll; brothers Chuck and his wife Alaire Soupir of Mankato, Butch and his wife Linda Soupir of Watertown South Dakota; brothers-in-law, Larry Stoll and his wife Lois of New Ulm, Gayel Stoll and his wife Sharon of Woodbury; sisters-in-law, Barb Asmus of New Ulm, Shirley Kamm and her husband Melvin of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert, two sons in infancy, her mother Vivian Como and father Henry Soupir; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Evelyn Stoll and brother-in-law Ted Asmus.
