Obituary of Myra Ellen Harvey

Myra Ellen Harvey of Rice Lake, WI passed away peacefully at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center in South Range, WI, where she had been residing. Myra was born in Lafarge, WI. She and her family relocated from Wisconsin to Kent, Washington, where she graduated from high school. After high school, she lived in Anchorage, Alaska and then returned to Washington. After a time, Myra moved to Superior, WI, where she resided for many years. Myra served as clerk/treasurer for the Township of Superior for 23 years. She was also a Douglas County Board Supervisor during that same time. She was active in her community as a 4-H general leader for the Pattison Park 4-H Club, and her church New Hope Presbyterian as well. She relocated to Rice Lake, WI, where she worked as a housekeeper until she took a position as a manager for a Community Based Residential Facility which she continued to work at until she was forced to retire due to the medical complications related to dementia. Myra was first and foremost a person who cared deeply about her children, her very much loved extended family, and friends including; her mother Catherine Raymer and her father Lawrence Raymer (both deceased), her sisters and brother; Lorraine Bjork (William), Newberg, OR, Dorsey Bjork (David), Auburn, WA, Colleen Prine (Gary), Ashland, WI, Julia Raymer, Ashland, WI, and Douglas Raymer (deceased). Her children Catherine Greely (Scott), South Range, WI, Daniel Harvey, Washburn, WI, Elise Harvey (deceased), and Scott Harvey (Melissa), Superior, WI, as well as her granddaughter Angela Shinoskie (John) and great grandchildren Annelise, Jessica, and John Shinoskie Jr. A funeral will take place Friday, August 31st at 10:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am. The family of Myra wish to acknowledge and to extend their thanks and gratitude to her caregivers at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center and Essentia Hospice staff.
