Obituary of Phyllis June Smith

Phyllis June Smith (Reich), 85, of Duluth, died on February 9, 2018 at Marywood, a Benedictine Living Community. Phyllis was born on January 5, 1933 in Revillo, SD to Ted and Virginia Reich. In 1951, at the age of 18, Phyllis married Richard Smith. She operated a beauty shop for 40 years, and was very involved with her church, Mount of Olives Baptist Church. Phyllis was a doer, beautifier, volunteer, and friend. Her greatest joys were her family, God's word, and His people. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Smith, her parents Ted and Virginia, Audrey Leight (sister), Bob Reich (brother), and beloved dog Jaycee. She is survived by sister Arlene (Royal) Boyer, brother Larry (Lyla) Reich, son Kraig (Patricia) Smith, daughter Gayle Ankarlo, son Robert (Kelly) Smith, son Bradley (Sandy) Smith, son Brett (Teresa) Smith, daughter Janine (David) Malberg; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 11 at Mount of Olives Baptist Church, 1500 Swan Lake Road in Duluth.
