Obituary of David Lee Longhenry
After a long battle with multiple health problems that were complications of Agent Orange exposure during his military service David Lee Longhenry passed away February 9th, 2018.
David was born February 15th, 1949 to Louis and Caroline Longhenry, nee Schlacht.
David was one of five children. He graduated Hopkins High School in 1967. He served in Vietnam in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. Married Nancy Jean Wall in 1971. They then lived in the Howard Lake/Dassel area, a brief time in Colorado and eventually settled in Orr, Minnesota where they raised five children. David, John, Jason, Sarah and Will.
In the early 1980's David moved to Glencoe and Delano breifly, then spent the remainder of his life in the rural Buffalo area.
David enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and most of all his family.
He is survived by children David and Colleen, John and Jackie, Jason and Karen, Sarah and Pete, Will and Ehrin. Grandchildren David, Eric, Luke, Ashley ( Mike), Jacob and Julia. Mother Caroline Laugtug. Siblings Luann Curry, Louis & Peg Longhenry, Marion & Robert House and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis, sister, Darlene; uncle, Ernie; aunt, Adeline (Grewe) Longhenry, cousins Dale and Sandra (Longhenry) Winterfeldt.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to gather on Saturday, February 17th at 12 noon in the Camp Courage Dining Hall - 8046 83rd St NW, Maple Lake, MN 55358 for a luncheon to honor his life.
In lieu of flowers the family asked you to consider planting a tree or garden item in his memory this spring.
