Obituary of Bernice Ella Peterson

Peterson, Bernice Ella Age 84, of Columbia Heights passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 15, 2018. Bernice worked in Shipping and Receiving at Precise Products Corp. for nearly 40 years before retiring. Bernice’s idea of retirement was working as a cashier at Menards in Fridley for the next 17 years as well as volunteering at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorraine and Dorothy; brothers, Harold, Ray and Bill; grandson D.J. Bates. She will be dearly missed by loving partner, Al Bates; children, Jim Banwarth, Pam (Derry Peterson) Soules, Diane (Jon) Phillips, Cindy (Greg) Doran, Beth (David) Crocker, Michelle McNeil, David Bates, Duane (Ann) Bates; grandchildren, Stephan, Holly (Ian), Nicole (Josh), Jason, David (Lisa), Jordan, Stephanie (Tim), Jessica (Seth), Dennis, Brian (Jessica), Nick, Joe, David Jr., Sabrina, Stacy and Suzanne as well as over 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence, Eileen and Stella as well as many, many nieces and nephews. Bernice may have only given birth to 2 children, but she was considered "Mom" or 'Gramma" to so many (you know who you are). Bernice left a footprint in this world that will never be forgotten A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 22nd at 6pm at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park with visitation beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers Bernice requested that donations be made to the American Red Cross (Bernice donated over 20 gallons of blood during her lifetime and the Red Cross helped her and Al following a house fire).
