Obituary of Martha Ann Berger

Passed away on February 24, 2018. Preceded in death by father, Robert and mother, Dona. Survived by husband, Gary; step mother Dagmar; brothers Mark and John; and friends. Martha was born on March 18th, 1957 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in June of 1975. Martha attended the University of Minnesota from March 1975 to March 1979 obtaining a BA in Humanities. As a life-long learner she pursued a master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of St. Thomas graduating in May of 2005. In 2008 she began work as a clinical social worker on a Ramsey County Assertive Treatment Team. Martha was an outdoor enthusiast. As a member of Outward Bound she once camped in the winter time for two weeks. She enjoyed several outdoor activities which included bicycling, kayaking in Alaska, jogging, skiing and hiking. Her favorite vacation was one in which she traveled extensively in Italy. Martha was interested in spirituality and practiced Buddhist meditation at the Common Ground Meditation Center in Minneapolis. Celebration of Martha’s life from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday March 3rd at Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, MN. Memorial readings at 1:00 p.m.
