Obituary of William E. Evans

William E. Evans, Sr. age 82, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, August 29th, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. Bill was born in Racine, WI on July 14th, 1936, son of the late James Evans and Mary Pollock Evans. He was raised in Duluth, graduated from Duluth Central High School, and spent most of his work career, 35 years at MNDOT. He enjoyed his summers at his home on Amnicon Lake and winters at his home in Venice, FL. He was an avid golfer and accomplished four hole-in-ones in his golf career. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Leslie of 60 years, and his children, Lisa (Steve Boben), William, Jr. (Mary Jo Birkhofer), and Lynn (Terry Jaworski), three grandchildren, Alyssa Boben, Adam Boben, and Teryn Jaworski, two brothers, Jim (Rose), and Ron (Linda), and two sisters Mary Grubb (Charlie), and Julie Czerniak (Greg). We will gather to celebrate his life on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, at the MN Cremation Society. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 and memorial service to follow at 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN.
